Since this update, I seem to be hitting the following on x86 and amd64:

Downgrading to 1.7.1 works.

Thanks for the report and upstream bug link!
Apparently from last comment, reverting a commit should help for virtualbox, not sure of its effect on other RDP connections?

In the meantime, I added epatch_user support in 1.8.1, to help testing custom patches

Upstream reports this is fixed with 1.8.2:
* Fix issue with mouse / keyboard against VirtualBox RDP

I added it to the tree, marking this bug fixed but don't hesitate to reopen this bug if this version does not work for you!
