I upgraded openssh yesterday after the new version was marked stable. Immediately after my ssh connections to that machine started failing. Using strace I was able to see that a SIGBUS was received. Downgrading to 5.9p1 fixed the issue, so it has nothing to do with the openssl version or something else. This is probably the same underlying problem as in bug 498632, but on sparc this means that you are completely locked from system access via ssh. Reproducible: Always
please post `emerge --info` in all of your bug reports. the -pv output for openssh itself would also be good.

Can you still reproduce this if you rebuild with USE=-hpn ?
(In reply to Tim Harder from comment #3) > Can you still reproduce this if you rebuild with USE=-hpn ? Nope, doesn't happen with USE=-hpn. I've gone ahead and p.use.masked net-misc/openssh hpn. I'm happy with simply marking the flag, so feel free to close this bug.
