For Gnome 3.10, we need to get the green light for libquvi-0.9 unmask. We could probably unmask most of Gnome 3.10 just keeping the dependent bits masked for libquvi but after testing it seems unnecessary. I have personally tested cclive, mplayer2, mpv from the list of reverse runtime dependencies [1]. mpv and cclive will just work with a youtube url but mplayer2 does not link to libquvi and does not seem to understand a youtube url. (In reply to Gilles Dartiguelongue from comment #0) > For Gnome 3.10, we need to get the green light for libquvi-0.9 unmask. Go for it, and don't be surprised when upstream drops their slot weirdness when 1.0 is released. If they didn't slot 0.9 I wouldn't have masked it in the first place.
mplayer2 does not have libquvi-0.9, to mpv it was added after mplayer2 was abandoned: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/commit/5f664d78e6e9bd5809dc7d0f12c4099e76582cb3 I suggest adjusting deps in mplayer2 ebuilds or masking quvi USE flag for them.

quvi cli seems to work fine, but mpv does not: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/516
