The files need to be hosted by a developer. This is why they are in flameeyes directory in the first place. The problem with using the upstream SRC_URI is because the url you receive is based on a session and when that session expires, the url also expires.

I've added a comment to the ebuild to alert developers about why the source files must use a gentoo hosted url.
