Hey guys, Portage forces the use of openssh. No known way to get around this; tried asking other Gentoo'ers, as well as the folk in #gentoo on openprojects.net. I was about to create an ebuild for SSH.Com's ssh (which I use on all of my systems, including all of Playboy.com) but the system overrides any ssh install/deinstall any time you do an 'emerge -u world' (openssh is forced). I dont know what engineering solution would allow for both openssh and ssh.com's ssh .. hence this bug report :) but when it's done, I'd love to submit ebuild love for ssh.com's wares.. I love and live by it. For now I just inject openssh manually, but that gets to be a PITA, as you can imagine.. Thanks in advance, jamie rishaw
I'll look into fixing this.
Sorry for the long delay. I'm now able to work on Gentoo Linux full-time and will be more available to fix bugs.
If you are able to whip up an ebuild for ssh.com's ssh, I'll add it to Portage.
No activity in 6 months - closing as a NEEDINFO. We will consider again if user submits an ebuild.
