The fix for this is the same as the one for Bug 47870

Patch attached as the original one in the referenced bug is broken.

Also - this fix IS needed for mozilla-thunderbird-0.5-r1. The comments in the referenced bug are incorrect in assuming that it is not.

Awaiting ebuild for Mozilla Thunderbird 0.6 before deciding whether or not to close this. Can anyone else confirm whether the problem still exists?

0.6 is in portage, please test with gcc-3.4 and report here

Sorry, should have got back to you sooner, I forgot!

Thunderbird 0.6 is in portage and compiles with GCC 3.4.0 without error.
