Description Phil Stracchino (Unix Ronin) 2013-11-18 18:41:42 UTC
mail-client/mutt-1.5.22-r1 is dying in configuration phase. It appears it is trying to run slang configuration tests even though USE=slang is not in effect.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make sure USE=slang is not set and sys-libs/slang is not installed
2. emerge =mail-client/mutt-1.5.22-r1
3. build dies in econf

Actual Results:
Configure fails in econf. Configuration checks for slang, finds it's not present, then goes ahead and tries to test for SLtt_get_terminfo in -lslang anyway. At this point it dies.

Expected Results:
Previous version built cleanly, I was expecting this one to do the same.

@Phil:
Can you attach config.log?

> configure: error: unable to compile. check config.log
>
> !!! Please attach the following file when seeking support:
> !!! /var/tmp/portage/mail-client/mutt-1.5.22-r1/work/mutt-1.5.22/config.log

This might have become a mandatory dependency, the config.log can show details.

@Maintainers:
> $(use slang && echo --with-slang) \

No --without-slang seems odd, maybe that has since changed?

Also, there is a forced --with-curses; unrelated to this bug, does that still work when USE="slang" as that does not appear to pull ncurses anymore?

It works here.
This is a dupe of the other bug.

@Phil
please sync again and emerge mutt again.

No longer able to reproduce here. It may have been some kind of transient failure.
