It is -frecord-gcc-switches which breaks the build. You should filter it.
Comment 4 Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-11-09 02:10:25 UTC
It was filtered until

   27 Oct 2013; Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> flag-o-matic.eclass:
Consider -frecord-gcc-switches a safe flag and do not strip it with
   strip-flags.

(which I approved).

The reason for the failure is that -gtoggle is enabled in stage2 but not stage3. I think the comparison check should strip .GCC.command.line.

Maybe we should just add:

  filter-flags -frecord-gcc-switches

to the ebuilds until upstream fixes it?
Comment 9 Andrew Savchenko gentoo-dev 2013-11-23 05:46:37 UTC
Hmm, while -frecord-gcc-switches is not filtered now, -fno-gcc-switches is (probably as well as all -fno-* flags). This makes impossible just to add -fno-gcc-switches to this ebuild and forces to provide full *FLAGS, which are host-dependent in my case (and I have dozens of hosts).

A typo. Should be -fno-record-gcc-switches.

Actually I like this better. It won't be trivial to port this to pre-4.8. I'll still pursue it upstream.
