Reemerging me-tv does not change anything.
looks like your me-tv-client can'T connect to the server. can you check if me-tv-server is running? If not try running it manually and see if you get any errors.
I tried to repeat the error. I started me-tv-client from the command line. I do not the the message "filesystem access error: cannot open file /home/rose/udp://@0.0.0.0:2005/" any more. But me-tv also does not work better as before. In the station respectively programm part of the window I see the current programms, I can click at the programms, and get then "See now", "Record" and "Close" menu, but I can't play any programm, the screen part of the window remains black. I have here the same, but at https://bugs.launchpad.net/me-tv/+bug/1179606 I found this little patch: https://bugs.launchpad.net/me-tv/+bug/1179606/+attachment/3939447/+files/black_screen_fix_patch.diff and it works fine for me!

Hello, I am facing this bug too. I am not sure how to use the above patch. It seems te be used when compiling directly from source. How is it supposed to be used in portage without breaking my system ? Can someone point me to an how to or some documentation ? Thank you.

I.e., I copied /usr/portage/media-tv/me-tv to /usr/local/portage/media-tv/me-tv. Then I added the patch to /usr/local/portage/media-tv/me-tv/files and modified the /usr/local/portage/media-tv/me-tv/me-tv-1.4.0.10.ebuild to use the patch. 'ebuild /usr/local/portage/media-tv/me-tv/me-tv-1.4.0.10.ebuild digest' makes the the me-tv overlay usable. The next 'emerge -v1 me-tv' installs the new me-tv overlay.
Thank you. I did what you said. Emerge now uses the local overlay. Unfortunately, the patch is not aplied. (I copied it in the files directory, along with the already existing me-tv-1.4.0.10-gcc47.patch that is aplyed). I also tried to rename black_screen_fix_patch.diff to black_screen_fix.patch without success. What did I miss ?

You need in the in the src_prepare() function the line epatch "${FILESDIR}"/black_screen_fix_patch.diff I attached my modified ebuild. > Unfortunately, the patch is not aplied. This also requires lots of dead an deprecated libraries like gstreamer-0.10, gnet, libgnome* ... isn't there any replacement that would allow us to simply treeclean this?
