Upgrading to x11-misc/slim-1.3.6-r1 forced me to unmerge x11-misc/slimlock (since this functionality is contained within this version of slim). But now, slimlock doesn't work anymore. It shows the "GenToo login screem" and my name but it displays Authentication failed at the top of the screen and it is beeping all the time. I don't focus to enter my password. The issue is only with slimlock? Or "Authentication Failed" pops up with the main slim login prompt too?
I can reproduce this. For a workaround, you can switch into a VT with Ctrl+Alt+F1, log into the terminal there, and do `killall slimlock`.
Glad that works for you.. [ctrl][alt]* is also locked out for me; i had to ssh in (which was difficult as i haddn't started sshd at the time :) anyhow, am working on it. I expect the main issue is that the code was just not updated properly to integrate with the new slim. I'm also testing if the independent slimlock works with the new slim, in which case I'm going to drop the embedded one until I can get it working.
Fixed in 1.3.6-r2. slimlock needs its own /etc/pam.d entry, which CMakeLists.txt doesn't install.
