Description DEMAINE Benoît-Pierre, aka DoubleHP 2013-10-07 22:55:46 UTC
As soon as I enable the lightning plugin, I get a segfault at TB start. With plugin off, TB works fine.

[ebuild R ] mail-client/thunderbird-17.0.9 USE="alsa crypt dbus ipc jit libnotify lightning mozdom startup-notification wifi -bindist -custom-cflags -custom-optimization -debug -gconf -ldap -minimal (-selinux) -system-sqlite" LINGUAS="en_GB fr -ar -ast -be -bg -bn_BD -br -ca -cs -da -de -el -es_AR -es_ES -et -eu -fi -fy_NL -ga_IE -gd -gl -he -hr -hu -hy_AM -id -is -it -ja -ko -lt -nb_NO -nl -nn_NO -pa_IN -pl -pt_BR -pt_PT -rm -ro -ru -si -sk -sl -sq -sr -sv_SE -ta_LK -tr -uk -vi -zh_CN -zh_TW" 0 kB

With plugin enabled:

dhp@uranus:~ thunderbird
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
enigmail.js: Registered components
mimeVerify.jsm: module initialized
Segmentation fault
dhp@uranus:~

when disabled:

dhp@uranus:~ thunderbird
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
enigmail.js: Registered components
mimeVerify.jsm: module initialized

Please try to capture a backtrace, then attach it to the bug; see the following link for more information how to enable debugging and to use gdb to capture one:

I had rebuilt TB without lightning USE flag, in order to be able to install latest up to date lightning 1.9.1 as suggested in the bump bug, and I had the same issue. I ll backtrace later this week.

Are you still seeing this issue with tb-24.x
Comment 6 DEMAINE Benoît-Pierre, aka DoubleHP 2014-03-08 09:56:20 UTC
I stopped upgrading my box years ago, because each update breaks features I use. The more I update, the more features I loose. Updating to 17 made me loose at least 5 features I used daily. And updating to 17 did not fix any bug I had in the past. I lost at least 5 features, and did not gain any. If i update to 24, I will loose some more again.

If you feel I have closed your bug and it is still a current issue, please reopen and update it completely. We will not work bugs that have no ebuild in tree any longer or can not be reproduced with a current system.
