Description Tanktalus 2013-09-14 17:45:58 UTC
I have a bunch of "private" ebuilds, including cross-compiling and perl-gcpan, in my home directory as a matter of convenience. This was working fine until today (after upgrading from 2.2.3 to 2.2.4).

I've gone and changed all group permissions to be portage, all the directories to be g=rwx, and still get this issue

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge world

Actual Results:
These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

Calculating dependencies -/usr/lib64/portage/bin/ line 545: /home/dmcbride/cvs/portdir-mine/cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc/gcc-4.6.3.ebuild: Permission denied
 * ERROR: cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-4.6.3::private failed (depend phase):
 *   error sourcing ebuild
 * Call stack:
 *, line 545:  Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 * source "$EBUILD" || die "error sourcing ebuild"
 * If you need support, post the output of `emerge --info '=cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-4.6.3::private'`,
 * the complete build log and the output of `emerge -pqv '=cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-4.6.3::private'`.
 * Working directory: '/usr/lib64/portage/pym'
 * S: '/var/tmp/portage/cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-4.6.3/work/gcc-4.6.3'

Expected Results:

With FEATURES=userpriv, the ebuild runs as "portage" user and "portage" group. So, you may need to adjust ownership of files in some cases. Alternatively, you can remove userpriv from FEATURES:

  echo 'FEATURES="${FEATURES} -userpriv -usersandbox"' >> /etc/portage/make.conf
