The new version is out: https://github.com/andresriancho/w3af/archive/1.5.zip Thanks
Created attachment 355604 [details] Ebuilds for w3af-1.5 Adding dependency for w3af is a pain. It needs several software not in the portage tree. In the tar attached I have added all ebuilds necessery for w3af. But w3af still complains about some missing dependency. It seems to check with dpkg if they are presents...
Created attachment 374156 [details] w3af-1.6 ebuild and its dependency ebuilds Now I need to create bugs for each missing dependency in portage
There are slightly better and fully working ebuilds in Pentoo overlay. Feel free to test it and report back.

There is no point for us doing that for now. It's been multiple new releases since that bug has been reported and few dependencies changed. I need it now and I have it via the overlay. Grab it if you want to maintain it. ps. I'm bumping the latest 1.6.0.5 version soon.

i am not the maintainer. I will only commit what the maintainer wants me to commit.
Please, update portage tree. This need by OpenVAS.

Sorry for the delay. I have try the ebuild proposed and it seems ok. But portage miss 7 ebuild for w3af. I will create a bug report for each and puts them as blocker for w3af.
also, see: https://code.google.com/p/pentoo/issues/detail?id=311 https://code.google.com/p/pentoo/issues/detail?id=314
OK thanks for the dependent bugs. I will have a look.
