Too bad, I need mod_python and hence 2.2 series if I remember right.
Perhaps a necessary module is missing. I've seen a similar message in 00_apache_manual.conf when negotiation_module was missing.
is this solved in 2.4.x then? 2.2.x is end of life and with no new updates since Dec 2017...
First of all, I do not know on which host I faced this issue. I upgraded one now from www-servers/apache-2.2.29 to www-servers/apache-2.2.34 but the config file either did not change or 'etc-update' does not offer me any tweaks. Well, the file was probably just during the upgrade silently replaced by www-servers/apache-2.2.34, see timestamp. # ls -latr /etc/apache2/modules.d/00_languages.conf -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5040 Mar 20 17:03 /etc/apache2/modules.d/00_languages.conf The above conf file calls the LanguagePriority . Both https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_negotiation.html and https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_negotiation.html contain this directive, so I am puzzled. I not not skilled enough to find when they added this directive to 2.2 series. I do not even have set APACHE2_MODULES in make.conf on this host which is good in this case because it would use a chance the deemed necessary module is not loaded.
