Created attachment 354408 [details] libhal1-flash-0.2.0_p1.ebuild libhal1-flash is a HAL (old sys-apps/hal) compatibility layer that provedes the functionality needed by www-plugins/adobe-flash for playing DRM protected content. This package seems to be included into opensuse (at least that's where I found it). I tried it on ~amd64 with firefox and a rented movie on Google Play and it works just fine. I suggest it should go into net-misc/libhal1-flash Homepage: https://github.com/cshorler/hal-flash Ebuild attached.
In portage as media-libs/hal-flash
If I had known about this, I would have tagged onto this bug. I only found-out about this through: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=7367652#7367652
For historical purposes, this package can be tested with the following URL leading to the Adobe Flash DRM test video. (Need to paste the video URL into the Flash player as instructed within the page.) http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/protected-video-content-play.html See subsection: Test protected video content playback using the demo player The ebuild should also include the above URL for a stable medium of testing in case users experience any problems. Suggest adding the following within the EBuild, probably within einfo: ++ # Adobe Flash DRM Playback Testing ++ # http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/protected-video-content-play.html ++ # See subsection, "Test protected video content playback using the demo player"
The test page is linked from the $HOMEPAGE's front page (in github)
