With file-5.11 I see this # file --mime-type /usr/bin/file /usr/bin/file: application/x-executable whereas with file-5.12* I get this # file --mime-type /usr/bin/file /usr/bin/file: application/x-executableapplication/octet-stream
As suggested on #gentoo, I'm adding my issue to this bug.
