The latest update of xen-tools can not be built if use flags hvm and qemu are on, it gives the following error: !!! This doesn't seem like a good enough fix to me....now I have portage removing hvm and qemu from my use flags when I have these 2 use flags explicitly set in /etc/portage/package.use. Is there a way to tell portage that these are required? Some way other than manually masking >=xen-4.2.1 and >=xen-tools-4.2.1 until texinfo-5 gets marked stable?

It is counter-intuitive to me that portage would try to upgrade and install xen-tools when my use flags explicitly say that I want hvm and qemu. In this case I would expect portage to tell me that the use flags I want are masked and *not* try to upgrade xen-tools and hence not upgrade xen.

Wouldn't this dependency be needed? qemu?
