karamba-weather-0.3 is broken as you can read in this forum: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=147488 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge karamba-weather 2. gunzip -c /usr/share/doc/karamba-weather-0.3/README.gz | less 3. notice that the docs specify a URL that does not resolve Actual Results: You cannot specify the appropriate config info in k_weather.py Expected Results: The docs should be correct. Moreover, karamba-weather-0.3 is an old version, karamba-weather-0.6 appears to be more relevant. I attempted to install 0.6 (even created an ebuild for it), but could not get it to work. As suggested in the forums, I d/l'ed liquid weather and it worked perfectly. Suggest removing karamba-weather from portage in favor of http://www.kde-look.org/content/show. php?content=6384
ebuild sent to -dev asking to ensure that the replacement is ok
i'm going to go ahead and add LW to portage under x11-plugins
actually, i changed my mind... take a look at http://www.kde-look.org/help/index.php?type=38&PHPSESSID=256ecb8580028e74e2bcd7c93cd6a798 that website says that installing it is as simple as unpacking it. creating an ebuild to do that is a waste of time, bandwidth on the rsync servers, and energy when it breaks again. i am going to delete karamba-weather and mark this one resolved
