The ebuild says:

   # why revert?  Ask Robin when he is back!
   EPATCH_OPTS="-d ${WORKDIR} -p0 -R" \
   epatch "${WORKDIR}"/debian/patches/02_ipv6.diff

with this patch it works

All current version work with ipv6
