Description Michael Mair-Keimberger (iamnr3) 2013-05-01 12:32:43 UTC
If chromium is build with media-libs/harfbuzz-0.9.16 i'll get "Aw, snap" on several sites. I could reproduce it when visit the login page of google+ or google translate. Also on youtube it happens quite often.

However, i found this chromium bug [1], which mentioned harfbuzz and downgrading to media-libs/harfbuzz-0.9.12 fixed the issue for me.

Maybe we could adjust the dependencies?

Thanks for providing the link.

We have a WebKit patch here:

I've attached a patch that can be used inside the ebuild.

Note however that harfbuzz-0.9.16 is ~arch, and latest ~arch chromium (27) doesn't have this issue.

If any developer wants to apply the patch, it's fine for me (except for ebuilds currently marked as stable), but I'd rather not take action here.
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-05-24 17:28:42 UTC
We need to take care of this issue before an hypothetical future stabilization of newer gnome stuff

Chromium 27 has an open STABLEREQ.

And now it can be closed as 27 is stable.
