Description Kete Tefid 2013-04-11 13:18:58 UTC
After resuming from hibernation, powermanagement becomes unaware of what power sources the computer is running on. For example, if the computer hibernated while it was on AC and then resumed while the power was cut off (i.e. on battery), still kde thinks that the power is connected and as a result of that, the AC profile is loaded while the computer is really on battery. Of course, disconnecting and reconnecting the AC power source makes it aware.
 Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Hibernate while on AC. 2. Remove the AC power while the pc is turned off. 3. Resume from hibernation on battery and you will see that powermanagement thinks that AC adapter is still present.
OR 1. Hibernate while on battery. 2. Connect the AC power while the pc is turned off. 3. Resume from hibernation on AC and you will see that powermanagement thinks that AC adapter is not present.

I filed a bug in KDE bug tracking system. However, another gentoo user mentioned that this issue does not happen in SUSE, so I thought that it might be only gentoo related.
What is your idea?

Unfortunately, it seems that this is gentoo related. A user has reported that swithing to systemd has solved the problem.A he stated, powerdevil is broken with non-systemd-systems.

Yeah, that "user" was me ;)

I don't know if it is gentoo related. It might be a bug in upower. Or in powerdevil. Or elsewhere. I just can say that for me it only works with systemd...

Hello Franz,
I did search fairly enough and I did try so hard not to open a duplicate bug, but the searching did not bring any results. While I did guessed that you might already have filed one....
