Using firefox-bin 17.0.4 I can observe a graphical corruption of checkboxes. When a checkbox is checked, (checked="checked"), the check inside the box will only show up when the mouse hovers over the input (or the related label). I use a NV34 card and recently switched back from nouveau to nvidia. I don't remember having ever seen such a problem before (say one week), so I first thought that the issue would be related to drivers. But the fact that the check appears when I hover the label associated with the input, makes the whole behaviour pretty strange. As soon as I scroll, the check symbol disappears. This applies to any within checkbox, preferences included, with javascript disabled. Flash and Java are disabled too. Anyway I wasn't able to reproduce the issue with a sample checkbox from zenity, so I would say, for now, that the issue seems related the firefox UI alone (I have both gtk+ 2.24.12 and 3.4.4 slots installed). I've not yet tried to reproduce this using nouveau. Please note that I don't find any other corruption or artefacts on my desktop, what tends to exclude the driver cause too. The issue is very annoying as I can't really tell for sure whether a checkbox is "on" or "off" and that makes filling a web form very painful, if not impossible. Reproducible: Always

Actually I *can* experience another corruption: with radio button. A filled radio-button will sometimes disappears, partly or fully, when the mouse moves away from it. The fact that it could disappears partly and leave a dirty graphical artefact seems to give weight to the driver-related hypothesis. Note: I'm using nvidia 173.14.36 + the patches to fix 3.7/3.8 compilation.
Unless you can produce with a supported video driver nothing the mozilla team is gonna be able to due to assist you. If you feel this is in error you can file a bug upstream.
