Disabling aio useflag allows me to build qemu.
The occurrence of -fno-use-linker-plugin in the config.log is interesting... Did you build libaio with experimental flags like -fLTO or -fuse-linker-plugin? See bug #453938 for more information.

For some reason unknown to me, a bunch of symbols are missing for libaio when its built with -fLTO.
