I'm not sure of my report but I think python-memcached depends on memcached. However emerging python-memcached does not automatically emerge memcached.

Reproducible: Always

It would need that only if the memcached (daemon) should reside on the same system. Since by the nature of the software this is not always desirable, installing one should not imply installing the other.
