attached is the ebuild which on a 2.5 or 2.6 kernel will rename nvidia.o to nvidia.ko, so # modprobe nvidia will work.

Um this isnt actually necessary, module will load when named nvidia.o

Well it should. Are you saying that yours doesnt load properly from 
modprobe nvidia
??

the module does not load when named nvidia.o.  upon further inspection, all my other modules ended in .ko.  after renaming to .ko, # modprobe nvidia worked.  This only applys to kernel's 2.6.1 and 2.6.3 so far.
