Description Chris 2004-03-14 14:12:04 UTC
scim, scim-table and scim-chinese are all merged well. But only the input method within scim-table works. The Smart Pinyin IM with scim-chinese doesn't work.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge scim
2.emerge scim-chinese
3.scim -d
4.within a XIM application (mozilla, Eterm, emacs etc), press hot-key: Ctrl-space

Actual Results:
All input methods come with scim-table works well, but I cannot bring out Smart
Pinyin IM.

Expected Results:
Smart Pinyin IM should show up as well as other IMs.

The problem might be that scim-chinese is not well binded to scim program. I
previously used the RPM packages for them, they worked perfectly.

you don't give your emerge info or what versions you are using.

Output of `emerge info`:

Could you provide the output of `scim -d'?
Comment 4 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-04 00:13:38 UTC
i have a feeling, without any additional information, that this bug is a dupe. but we'll be adding the gpl'ed scim-chinese later, that should solve the problems we have when packaging.
