The ebuild currently has LICENSE="as-is" which most likely is wrong. This is a binary package, and there is no license included in the tarball. Also its HOMEPAGE doesn't help because it is dead. Can you please ask upstream for clarification under with terms this package can be distributed?
Sorry, I used the wrong template for filing the bug. This is not a binary package. (The rest was correct, though.)
well, there's neither a license header within the source, nor a seperate file. It's quite old, but still works fine. The only thing i remember was "source as-is". nothing else. hmmm...
According to the homepage archived at archive.org, the author of this package is Kai Germaschewski <kai@tp1.ruhr-uni-bochum.de>.

Upstream has confirmed in a second e-mail message that this can be distributed under GPL-2+.
