Description Samuli Suominen gentoo-dev 2012-11-15 11:36:10 UTC
it's not reasonable to assume stable is up-to-date and we get a lot of unnecessary bugspam because of this

perhaps move the desktop-file-validation to 2.2 only, or if it's possible to only show it to users of latest-in-tree desktop-file-utils, that'd be even better

thanks

actually, since the .desktop files might already be fixed in ~arch versions of the packages, the .desktop file check should only be visible to users of full ~arch system (as in, ACCEPT_KEYWORDS has ~arch)

thanks

Why not simply if affected package is latest version (from even stable or testing)? I am running mostly stable system with, for example, most gnome maintained packages keyworded to get latest version from testing as soon as possible...

I don't see a logical reason for this. Those bugs are of low severity, so filter those emails if you need to.

These bugs will get less over time anyway, cause now developers should see those QA messages while testings their ebuilds.
