Version 5.3.10 was released. It'd be nice to have it either in mysql overlay or portage. At the moment, I see that version 5.3.x is masked, what would it take to get it out of masking? I could help in this direction.

Brian deserves it more than me, he did a lot of the work on this latest batch of updates. Dunno if he has a paypal address, but he should see this message.

Well, thanks to everyone involved. I guess you (the developers) must focus more on the MySQL alternatives, since the way Oracle takes MySQL is not an easy road. I've unmasked the package, built it and so far there's no issue at all.

Another news story that backs my argument: Fedora 19 will replace MySQL in favor of MariaDB.

It's proposed, not accepted.
