Description Takuo 2004-03-07 09:49:47 UTC
when I command

#mirrorselect -a -s4 -o >> /mnt/gentoo/make.conf

mirrorselect replys,,

Dowloading a list of mirrors...
/usr/sbin/mirrorselect : line1 : portageq : command not found...
,,,

even the command have sucessfully chosen 4 mirrors and written on the "make.conf" file,,, I imagin that there is an error in one of script file of mirrorselect... ;)

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1.I've followed the instraction of "handbook.xml" till chap.6 code listing1,,, (c/f additional info;)
2.the command #mirrorselect -a -s4 -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf
3.inspite of that message,,, the command has sucessfully choosen the mirrors and noted on "make.conf"

Actual Results:
,,, there is no big problem,,, just one thing,,, the command removed the "ipv6
only" mirrors from the list... :(

Expected Results:
if there is error in some "script",,, causes this message,,, it should be fixed..

Using,,,, "install-x86-minimal-2004.0.iso" of 04Mar2004 with,,,
stage tarbell,,,, "stage2-pentium3-20040218.tar.bz2" of 02Mar2004...

Hello:

I recently attempted a gentoo install of 2004.1 with the 2.6.7-gentoo-26
kernel. Turns out that the second time was the charm, but I certainly
did learn a lot the first time around. ;)

Starting from stage 1, I noticed the following output during both of the
installs when running mirrorselect [step 6.a for those reading along in
their on-line HowTO books].

livecd gentoo # mirrorselect -a -s4 -o | grep -ve '^Netselect' >>
/mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf
Download a list of mirrors...
/usr/sbin/mirrorselect: line 1: portageq: command not found
Downloading 100k segments from 147 server(s)
/usr/sbin/mirrorselect: line 184: <!DOCTYPE: command not found

Cleaning temporary files

This seemed relevant to the bug at hand, let me know if you need more info on my system

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
