Comment 1 Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2013-07-25 23:36:44 UTC
Latest upstream snapshot build fine, but while loading otr module in irssi - irssi segfaults. Need to investigate...
Comment 2 jan 2013-12-01 22:29:40 UTC
It seems like there has been progress since irssi-otr 0.3
Might want to consider an ebuild version bump?

Comment 3 Julian Ospald 2013-12-31 00:03:19 UTC
any progress here? net-libs/libotr-4.0.0 is still hardmasked for no good reason, except that apps are unable to catch up

would a snapshot solve this?
Comment 4 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2014-01-01 05:40:01 UTC
(In reply to Julian Ospald (hasufell) from comment #3)
> would a snapshot solve this?

Sergey said that irssi segfaulted when trying to load the module from git at the time. No idea if this is still the case.
Comment 5 Manuel Rüger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-06-05 10:13:40 UTC
I've restricted the dependency to <net-libs/libotr-4.
Comment 6 Manuel Rüger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-06-10 19:27:55 UTC
https://github.com/cryptodotis/irssi-otr/releases/tag/v1.0.0 has been released. does it work with this version?
Comment 7 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-09-20 10:54:16 UTC
I haven't heard from the proxy-maintainer for years and I do not have any clue nor interest in this package, so i'm dropping it into the net-irc herd.
Comment 8 mitzip 2014-10-10 18:43:09 UTC
Uploaded irssi-otr 1.0.0 ebuild to https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=518958... that should do it. I don't know how to link these two bug reports, so I'll leave that to someone who knows what they're doing :-P
Comment 9 Vincent Brillault 2014-10-20 12:04:05 UTC
Please note that https://github.com/cryptodotis/irssi-otr contains the following warning: ''Please use the git head master branch of libotr which contains a critical fix for irssi-otr to work. (Fix commit: d748757e581b74e7298df155ad49174cb914102b)''

This commit is present in libotr-4.1.0.
Comment 11 Andrew Savchenko gentoo-dev 2015-01-10 06:28:38 UTC
irssi-otr-1.0.0 is now in tree, it builds and works fine with >=libotr-4.1.0.
