Created attachment 326668 [details] notification-daemon.desktop Gnome 3.4, and probably any gnome >= 3.0, provides notification-daemon through /usr/libexec/gdu-notification-daemon, so awesome-gnome-xsession cannot start, because there is no notification-daemon application in /usr/share/applications. So desktop file attached, it should be placed under /usr/share/applications when gnome use-flag is enabled.
Maybe we should actually depend on whatever provides that daemon?
(In reply to Alex Alexander from comment #1) > Maybe we should actually depend on whatever provides that daemon? Absolutely, sys-apps/gnome-disk-utility owns gdu-notification-daemon so any .desktop file should be installed by sys-apps/gnome-disk-utility I don't know if it's missing or not, but reassigning to correct maintainers ->
Looks like there is no such thing as gdu-notification-daemon anymore with GNOME 3.12 and gnome-base/gvfs built with USE="udisks" using UDisks 2.x series Closing bug as OBSOLETE ->
