Description Woolong 2004-03-05 01:59:37 UTC
openoffice-ximian was successfully emerged, but whenever I try to launch, it always exit with the same error of Segmentation fault.

I got the same result either login as a root or regular user.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.xoocalc
2.
3.

Actual Results:
running openoffice.org setup...
/usr/bin/xoocalc: line 174: 12968 Segmentation fault
/opt/Ximian-OpenOffice/program/setup ${UPDATEFLAG}
-R:/etc/ximian-openoffice/autoresponse-1.1.0.conf 1>&/dev/null
setup failed.. abort

Expected Results:
Expect xoocalc to be launched properly

My kernel is gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.3-r1
gcc 3.3.2-r5
xfree 4.3.0-r5
kde 3.2.0
sun-jdk 1.4.2.03
CFLAGS="-march=athlon-tbird -O2 -pipe -fmomit-frame-pointer"
Comment 1 Christian Rudh 2004-03-12 08:45:26 UTC
I get the exact same error. And I get it regardless of running openoffice, openoffice-ximian or openoffice-bin.

CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
My use flags for this package are +gnome -kde.
I am running with ~x86 keyword.

And between testing the different versions I have unmerged the others and made sure that there are no .openoffice or .sversionrc.

Strace output of OpenOffice setup
Comment 3 Will Lepofsky 2004-04-07 14:30:15 UTC
I have the same exact issue. But mine is from OpenOffice-1.1.0-r2. The problem seems to stem from the setup program for OpenOffice. I have attached the strace output of setup.

I have tried removing the dot file in the home directory, created a new user, and tried from root to no avail.

I should note that I have had 1.1.0-r2 version of OpenOffice running for a while now with no problems. This is something that cropped up over the last two weeks. That was the last time that I ran OpenOffice successfully.

Same over here, is there a workarround? do I need to test something?

I can't reproduce that bug, also do you still get it?

Reporter of the bug mailed me that this is gone now, so closing
