Description B.Vigraham 2004-03-04 09:11:16 UTC
My system is SCSI based. There are 2 channels. One channel
has CD and Tape. The other has HD. CD on target 5 at Ch0, HD on target 0 Ch1.
When I try to load
Universal installCD 2004.0 it goes like this ..
ISOLinux 2.08 2003-12-12
ISO Linux Found something at dr=F0
when I enter for boot prompt -smp -doscsi
Loading smp ....
Loadiing smp.igz....
Ready.

That is not everything stops..
Time to call the Computer guys @ Gentoo

I've sucessfully loaded RedHat 9, Fedora and Suse on the
same system from CD. I am evaluating Gentoo as one of the candidates
for use as WIN2k server replacement.

Your help much appreciated.

Cheers,
BV

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.See above
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Nothing happens after Ready.

Expected Results:
Figured out where the devices are and just carried on with install
just like RedHat does. (I am not a RedHat fanatic!!)
Comment 1 B.Vigraham 2004-03-04 09:50:48 UTC
Changed SCSI controller firmware configs and rewired devices (CD and DISK) to be on the same channel GENTOO is ON!
Sorry for the trouble. Please bury or cremate the BUG!
Cheers,
BV

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
