I have a strange problem with printing. I suspect cups or cups-filters I have generated a pdf file with pdftex (attached) showing "Hello" First, that pdf file displays fine with all viewers here. When printing the attached pdf file with evince or zathura I get an output shown in the attachment "scanned printer output". Here you can see that the first double quote is overlaying the character H of Hello. But, if I do - print to a file using evince, the postscript file is OK - print by using acroread, gv or command line lpr -P .... the result is OK. I'm puzzled. I've seen this also with a "$" over printing the first number on a dollar amount in some on-line receipts I was printing from firefox .. this was mid-document .. looks like a script/program is ignoring or not advancing the "carriage" on special characters in some circumstances ..
Can't do anything about this now, cannot find any related bug reports in other distros, and the upstream tracker is still offline. Later.
Is this still happening in cups-1.6.3? Please also add your cups-filters version and try 1.0.35...
