Firefox 14 fails to build with PGO (profile guided optimisaton) enabled. Firefox 13 worked fine, and 14 works fine if i disable PGO. I notice that we both have the FEATURE sandbox enabled. could this be blocking access to /root/.gnome2/ (seems to be that thats the sort of thing that the sandbox should do). I am away from my gentoo machine now, but maybe you could test if it still fails with sandbox disabled. I assume that if the problem is that the build wants to write outside the sandbox then that is a bug in itself.
As expected, it does work without sandbox..

We already knew it was a sandbox issue, if you search for any pgo build failures you would see it is always a sandbox issue. This all comes down to buggy gconf support, if gconf was not installed you would not see the failure in the first place.

PGO useflag has been masked until such a time we can properly support it in gentoo. Soon as we can we will unmask and support pgo builds for all users. At this time even upstream is having problems supporting pgo builds in Linux. I will continue to track there upstream to determine when best we can come back and review all pgo build failures. Please ignore resolution we no longer have an option for later.
