Description Blake Leverett 2012-05-11 23:07:21 UTC
I have had this problem before, and was somehow able to get qt-assistant to build, but now I cannot recall what the solution was.

Basically, emerge tries to access config files in my /home/blake/.config directory, and fails to access these files.

The output of this failure looks like:

>>> Source compiled.

Comment 4 Blake Leverett 2012-05-14 16:55:23 UTC
Strange enough, I had two systems (one desktop and one laptop) that had this problem. I tried rebuilding several times, trying different ideas, with no success. This morning, both systems now emerged qt-assistant without any problems. Very odd. I have been a Gentoo user for 7 years, so I'm not new at this. In one case (laptop) I unmerged qt-declarative, then qt-assistant emerged, and for the desktop, I powered it down Friday night, and on Monday morning the emerge worked.

Case closed for now, but I'm sure this will crop up next time qt-assistant needs an update.

Maybe you have XDG_CONFIG_HOME defined in your portage environment?
Comment 6 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-05-20 17:17:43 UTC
I've committed a potential fix to qt4-build.eclass that exports XDG_CONFIG_HOME="${T}".

Closing as TEST-REQUEST because I'm not sure this really fixes your issue.
