emerge --info

Attempting to install wpa_supplicant which requires sec-policy/selinux-base-policy-2.20110726-r13 as a dependency. This is a fresh install and it appears there is some issue with the environment line that is called.

Apologies if this makes little sense this is my first bug report but as far as I can discern the issues does not lie with my system.

Comment 7 dthiedeke 2012-04-12 21:50:33 UTC
This bug is only with python 3.2. Using 2.7 the install works without issue.
Comment 8 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-04-14 11:49:18 UTC
We currently documented to use python-2 for SELinux, but python3 should be supported in the 20120215 series. Can you try with sec-policy/selinux-base-policy-2.20120215-r6 (or higher)?

You might need to set in the following keyword acceptance criteria:

"""
sys-libs/libselinux
sys-apps/policycoreutils
sys-libs/libsemanage
sys-libs/libsepol
app-admin/setools
dev-python/sepolgen
sys-apps/checkpolicy
sec-policy/*
"""
Comment 9 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-04-22 11:45:38 UTC
Okay, we are still having a similar issue with recent builds. I've added a patch to segenxml.py (in refpolicy) to allow building with python3 as well. Is currently in hardened-dev overlay (selinux-base*-2.20120215-r8 and later).
Comment 10 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-04-26 18:40:09 UTC
In main tree, ~arch'ed
Comment 11 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-04-29 19:45:01 UTC
Got report that it still fails with python-3. I could've sworn I tested it.

19:27 -!- fakemitnick [~kush@c-24-61-126-207.hsd1.nh.comcast.net] has joined #gentoo-hardened
19:28 < fakemitnick> hi guys, I am having some trouble emerging selinux-base-2.20120215-r7
19:28 < fakemitnick> i get a bunch of errors about mixing tabs and spaces and then the emerge just fails
19:29 <@SwifT> fakemitnick: switch to python-2 for the moment
19:29 <@SwifT> or install -r8, which should have the fix in it
19:35 < fakemitnick> hmm, get a similar error with r8
Comment 12 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-05-01 11:32:43 UTC
Will be resolved in -r9.

Includes:
- changes on whitespace usage in the support/*.py
- transform string.split(a,b) into a.split(b)
- transform cStringIO.StringIO(a) into io.StringIO(a)
Comment 13 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-05-01 11:42:03 UTC
and a.has_key(b) transforms into "b in a" (needed for USE=doc)
Comment 14 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-05-15 18:08:27 UTC
hopefully fixed; -r9 is now in hardened-dev overlay
Comment 15 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-05-20 18:42:00 UTC
r9 is now ~arch in main tree
Comment 16 Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-07-30 16:34:46 UTC
Stabilized
