After updating Kernel from 2.6.34 to 3.2.1 the problem started. First all seems to work fine, but in KDE all 5 seconds the screen freezes for 1 second. After searching gentoo-bugs and google i found following error message with "dmesg": ------------------------------------------------------ [drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 213 Raw EDID: 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff 00 05 b7 00 00 17 04 00 00 02 13 01 03 6e 31 1d 78 ef e5 25 a6 54 44 a1 25 14 50 54 bf ef 00 81 80 81 8f 71 4f 95 00 95 0f b3 00 01 01 01 01 21 39 90 30 62 1a 27 40 50 18 3e 11 ef 23 11 d6 ff 1c 00 00 00 fd 00 38 4c 1e 55 13 00 0a 20 20 20 20 20 20 00 00 00 fc 00 58 32 32 31 30 57 41 53 0a 20 20 20 20 00 00 00 ff 00 30 30 31 30 34 37 0a 20 20 20 20 20 20 00 77 radeon 0000:06:00.0: DVI-I-1: EDID block 0 invalid. ------------------------------------------------------ This error only occurs when i connect an old monitor with vga over an adapter to my video card. If i disconnect the monitor all works fine, but when connection it starts to freeze all 5 seconds again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Compile kernel with radeon-ucode 2. Connect old vga-monitor
