Comment 2 Olliver Schinagl 2012-03-11 17:41:45 UTC
Saw the same thing emerging the same (meta) package. It is actually gwave-20090213-r1 that has the depenancy to guile. Running emerge --skipfirst --resume skips guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1, gwave-20090213-r1 and gspiceui-1.0.0 but does install everything else to use geda and pcb.
Comment 3 René Gabriëls 2012-03-14 21:19:51 UTC
Workaround:

emerge -1 guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1 && -1 guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1 && emerge geda-suite
Comment 4 Olliver Schinagl 2012-04-15 22:36:41 UTC
Confirmed, emerging -1 the older 2.61.1 works fine and then upgradeing 2.61.1 to 2.61.1-r1 works.

'emerge -1 =guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1' fails here with:

root@leopard:/usr/local/portage/media-video(46)# emerge -1 =guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1

Comment 7 Dominique Michel 2012-05-06 20:59:43 UTC
I get the same problems with both 2.16.1-r1 and 2.16.1 on a newly installed ~amd64 system. Nothing described here help in my case.

I try with FEATURES="-j1" but that didn't helped.

I see that emerge did create a work/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1_build directory. With 2.16.1-r1, when going into this directory change nothing, same issue with the gnome2 module. When going into work/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1 and issuying the same configure command than emerge did, it configure and compile fine:

./configure --prefix=/usr --build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib --libdir=/usr/lib64 --disable-dependency-tracking --docdir=/usr/share/doc/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1 --enable-shared --disable-static --disable-Werror
...
make

After that, I made a "make install" and portage is now able to merge guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1. And geda with geda-suite.

The recipe of Dominique (Comment 7) works for me too.
Comment 9 Juergen Rose 2012-05-07 18:19:34 UTC
I tried the recipe of Dominique at the next computer (dog), but now I get doing 'make' in /var/tmp/portage/dev-scheme/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1/work/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1 the old error:

The third system (cheetah) fails with:

In file included from /var/tmp/portage/dev-scheme/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1/work/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1/glib/gnome/gobject/guile-support.h:27:0,

Should I open a new bug? The error does not fit very well to the summary.
Comment 12 Juergen Rose 2012-05-21 13:43:58 UTC
I opened a new bug (415905) with the problem of "Only <glib.h> can be included directly."

Pacho Ramos wrote, that this bug 415905 is a duplicate of 411933.

In bug 411933. wrote René Gabriëls "See this bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406885"

So I find only a circular connection of bugs, but no solution.

Any help is appreciated.

2.16-2 is out. So maybe it is time for an update.

There are 2 separate bugs. To fix this, do the following:

1. Download patch https://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=309503
2. Move it to /usr/portage/dev-scheme/guile-gnome-platform/files/
3. cd to /usr/portage/dev-scheme/guile-gnome-platform
4. Add 'epatch "{$FILESDIR}/glib-single-include.patch"' (without the single quotes) after the 2 existing epatch lines in guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1.ebuild
5. Run 'ebuild guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1.ebuild digest'
6. Emerge the previous version: 'emerge -1 =dev-scheme/guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1'
7. Add "{$FILESDIR}/glib-single-include.patch" to the PATCHES array in guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1.ebuild
8. Run 'ebuild guile-gnome-platform-2.16.1-r1.ebuild digest'
9. Emerge the newest version: 'emerge -1 guile-gnome-platform'
Comment 15 Juergen Rose 2012-06-01 19:22:46 UTC
Thanks René,

substituting {$FILESDIR} with ${FILESDIR} in step 4 and 7 of your recipe I could emerge gnome-guile-platform-2.16.1-r1. It would be good, if a patched version maybe together with 2.16-2 would be come to the main portage tree.
