Description Róbert Čerňanský 2012-03-03 09:28:44 UTC
The fetch restriction message for truecrypt-7.1a says:

 * Fetch failed for 'app-crypt/truecrypt-7.1a'
 * Please download truecrypt-7.1a-linux-{86,64}.tar.gz source from:
 * http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads2
 * Then put the file in /usr/portage/distfiles/truecrypt-7.1a.tar.gz

I'm not sure if it is just me but I find the part "Please download truecrypt-7.1a-linux-{86,64}.tar.gz ..." misleading. Every time truecrypt is updated I happen to download several binary packages truecrypt-7.1a-linux-x{64,86}.tar.gz, console ones etc. just to finally find out that what I need is "TrueCrypt 7.1a Source.tar.gz".

I reckon that the message mention to download _source_ and points to .../downloads2 where only the source can be found but still, if the message would not contain the _binary_ package name, its clarity would be improved.

It could be reworded for example like this:

"Please download the linux source package for TrueCrypt 7.1a from: ..."

or

"Please download the linux source package "TrueCrypt 7.1a Source.tar.gz" from: ..."

Many Thanks
