Today I updated my system and saw that firefox (and thunderbird) both were linked to the updated libvpx. So I ran emerge @preserved-rebuild and got the following error message:

checking for libvpx version >= v0.9.7... no
configure: error: --with-system-libvpx requested but it is not v0.9.7 or later
*** Fix above errors and then restart with               "make -f client.mk build"

The currently installed version of libvpx is now 1.0.0 which should of course satisfy this dependancy.

So it seems that either the libvpx is reporting its version incorrectly or mozilla's ./configure is broken.
