Description Clemens Fruhwirth 2004-02-02 07:18:27 UTC
a fresh evolution installation shows calendar, tasks, contacts and inbox shortcuts in the left panel, but does exactly nothing when clicking on it. it is possible to enter for instance a new appointment, but it won't show me a calendar. when restarting evolution these shortcuts are gone (only summary is left). the entered appointment is still there. but well without any calendar.

[ebuild R ] net-mail/evolution-1.4.5 +ssl +mozilla +ldap +doc +spell -pda -ipv6 -kerberos +kde +crypt

when watching the build process, the calendar interface seems to built properly.

any ideas? is it ok that there are no oaf files in /usr/share/oaf? the evolution faq stats that there should be a few, but I guess that's only been necessary for evolution 1.2.x. there is also no evolution-calendar binary but I think that's ok, since as far as I understood evolution now only consists of evolution and evolution-wombat.

i found the source of the problem.

in Tools->Settings->Folder Settings->Default Setting where no valid default folders selected. I tried to reproduce this data setting, but I actually have no idea how I managed to kill the setup wizard, so that this field is left without any entry.

Nonetheless, imho a warning would be appropriate when clicking on the calendar symbol that no default folder is active. I'll report this bug upstream.
