net-mail/ximian-connector is dependent on net-libs/linc. 

Versions used : 1.4.5.0.6.1 for ximian-connector and 1.0.3 for linc. 

I suppose that this dependencies it when ximian-connector >= 1.4.0 (possibly 1.2.0) and is that linc >= 1.0. (not tested)

Can anyone explain how to deal with dependencies when it involves rpm's?

the rpm depend on a normal ebuild, I suppose you can just add it to the RDEPEND variable with the 2 other required dependencies ?

and deps probably should come from the .spec or maybe from the so's themselves.

Ooops, seems I didn't search enough the bug database.
I just got same erros as bug 34034, now marked as duplicate.
