Dear collegue, When x11-libs/qt gets emerged it installs the same stuff qt-docs does if use doc is enabled. This causes in certain conditions the qt documentation to be installed twice. As an example kdepvelop, has this issue when x11-libs/qt was using doc when you built it. These duplicity can result in an unexpected lack of qt-docs one ones system. Much cleaner would be to make x11-libs/qt not produce docs but include a run-time dependency on app-doc/qt-docs. Changes needed to the ebuild are trivial, I can commit them to a new rev if you like. Or you can do your own or I can send you mine if you ask for it. Thanks, Bart Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
You're right, but the idea here is to get rid of app-doc/qt-docs and keep the doc building in the ebuild itself.
I was originally thinking that would be a good fix but then came to consider there might be instances in which would want the docs and they were not installed with the library... So anyway what is the plan for this one remove app-doc/qt-docs and any reference to it? Let me know if I can help on this one...
Older versions of Qt still have the dependency on app-doc/qt-docs, so it needs to stay for a while (until those are gone from portage).
