Description Matthias Muthmann 2004-01-30 08:54:48 UTC
Since I upgraded to 2.6.1-gentoo kernel my system became very unstable.
While working on my KDE-desktop, all windows suddenly stop responding, but the mouse is still moving.
In most cases it is possible to switch to a framebuffer console, but I cannot use the top command or kill an application or shut the System down
When I try to kill the X-server, the whole System freezes when trying to reload the X-server.
After the last crash I found the following lines in my log:

Comment 1 Jason Cox (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-29 08:33:57 UTC
Can you try it without framebuffer and bootsplash (if you use bootsplash) and check again?
Comment 2 Matthias Muthmann 2004-03-29 09:12:59 UTC
Since I updated to a later release, the bug didn't happen again.
Comment 3 Jason Cox (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-08 22:42:25 UTC
Good to hear. Bug is gone.
Comment 4 Jason Cox (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-08 22:42:41 UTC
Bug fixed.
