Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-11-05 12:02:08 UTC
earhart ~ # emerge -pv ltrace

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "ltrace".

emerge: searching for similar names...
emerge: Maybe you meant any of these: dev-util/strace, net-dialup/dtrace, sys-block/btrace?

In this case, earhart is my vserver that has --usepkgonly, as it should never build anything; incidentally, out of the three alternatives, there's a binpkg only of strace (indeed this happened to me when trying to install strace forgetting I didn't have a binpkg for it).

Thanks,
Diego

If I understand the intention, this is fixed in git:

http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/portage.git;a=commit;h=618115ef705d495d199449bfbc9c6135a8f58f94

This is fixed in 2.1.10.33 and 2.2.0_alpha73.
