Hi, I got a problem with LINGUAS settings (I think). In /etc/make.conf I've set LINGUAS="it". When I try emerge -auDvN world, portage lists some packages, indicating that this packages will be emerged for changes in the LINGUAS settings [LINGUAS="(-it%)]. After I emerge world, if I ask for emerge -puDvN world again, portage proposes me to emerge the same packages again. I'm not sure if this is a problem of some package I emerged or if it's a problem of my configuration, of something else. You probably set the LANGS variable, which interferes with qt4-r2.eclass: http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/eclass/qt4-r2.eclass?view=markup Other people have reported this, and the solution is to unset the LANGS variable. Our policy in portage is to let user variables (CFLAGS, etc..) pass directly into the ebuild environment, so there's not much that portage can do to prevent interference like this.
I think we can solve this by preventing the corrupt IUSE value from being written in the /var/db/pkg entry.
