It is not possible to compile the package app-emulation/libvirt with the xen USE flag enabled, actually:

# emerge -uav libvirt

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

Even the xen use flag has been specified in the /etc/portage/package.use it is ignored.

Please correct.

The xen USE flag is masked pending the resolution of bug 379815 in the stable tree.

If you read the description of bug 379815, you'll quickly realize
that it would suffice to mask the xen USE flag for the specific
version of libvirt xen-tools-3.x.x (anyone's still using that?)
depends on, i.e. by using

=app-emulation/libvirt-0.9.3-r1 xen

Please don't mess with the other versions!
