I am a danish user and am trying to use Live CD. During the boot process I am asked to select my national keyboard, and I can select 11 (dk), so far so good, in the console window it works fine. However in X11 nothing is working! 1) I can see that "da" is missing for LINGUAS, in /etc/make.conf, this will fix the specific missing danish applications. 2) For all supported languages however the file /etc/locale.gen shuld be changed: All entries should be uncommented, and an entry or two for all supported languages should be added. e.g. for danish the two lines: da_DK.UTF-8 UTF-8 da_DK ISO-8859-1 and the program locale-gen should be run. 3) When a keybord is choosed at boottime and the proper keybord is set in /etc/conf.d/keymaps /etc/csh.env and /etc/profile.env should be updated as well with the environment variables: LANG and LC_ALL e.g. for danish echo "export LANG='da_DK.UTF-8' export LC_ALL='da_DK.UTF-8'" >> /etc/profile.env echo "setenv LANG 'da_DK.UTF-8' setenv LC_ALL 'da_DK.UTF-8'" >> /etc/csh.env With theese changes all supported keybord/languages should work also in X11. Ps. /Artwork should be updated to reflect 11 years ;) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot the DVD with a foreign keyboard 2.In X11 open a terminal emulator 3.try typing special characters ex danish keyboard entering keys for: - + ( Actual Results: The keys will be as mapped for US keyboard the keys as example abow shown as: / - *
